What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most usual cooling problems in Charlotte.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system working but there isn’t cool air coming out, you may need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity can cause more condensation so a second issue to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can verify these matters, you may be able to find the issue; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause major cooling problems. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be all set. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your issue, whatever AC trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24/7/365 so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
