In early July, a peaceful Black Lives Matter-organized protest was ending when shots resonated in Dallas. Chaos ensued and by the time everything calmed, nine Dallas police officers were injured and five lost their lives.
Within days, Dallas business owners and community leaders joined forces to fundraise for the police officers and their relatives. Dos Jefes, a local bistro, hosted “Dine for Dallas Blue” and all of the money raised from the dinner and silent auction they held were given to the fallen and injured officers and their loved ones.
General Manager Tony Polendo of Calvlery Service Experts was more than honored to get involved.
“I was out for my birthday dinner less than a mile away from the events of that horrible evening,” Polendo recounted. “That night really struck home for me. As a military veteran, I have the utmost respect for any person who wears a uniform in an effort to protect and serve our community.”
“When my associate contacted me to see if we would support this charity event by merely attending, I wanted to do more than only attend, but donate our time and effort as well.”
Tony and the Calverley Service Experts team collaborated with Lennox to auction off a new heating and cooling system with free installation at the Dine for Dallas Blue event. Check out the pictures below of the installation.
“I am both grateful and appreciative for the opportunity to have participated in such a wonderful event,” Polendo said.
From your family at Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning, we are truly sorry for the loss of the Dallas law enforcement community and for the loved ones of Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael J. Smith, Brent Thompson, and Patrick Zamarripa.
